This fund is a challenge to myself.Going long commodities and short stocks is a no brainer to the point that it is unexciting.What will I do if I was asked to run a fund using housing,financials,consumer,tech(a thematic fund from hell).The kind of stocks I am short everywhere else and making oodles of profit on.The stocks will be picked on valuation basis(how does one value toxic waste found in opaque balance sheets ?,I am not sure so I will to minimize exposure) and will be from the US,Europe and will exclude all countries/regions I expect to outperform esp Latin America and Russia.The fund will simulate a closed ended fund where the suckers can't take their money out.The objective of the fund is to lose less money than the S & P index.
