Stock update and watch list 7/29/08

Due to difficulties understanding the socialpicks system regarding changing rating from buy to hold and thus resetting the performance, I wanted to summarize what is a buy vs hold in the portfolio. I also wanted to give you my watch list.

Note: if there is a buy recommendation, do not buy your entire position. Nibble a bit...if drops more, then double the bet...yes I go against conventional thinking.

BUYS - CL BBBY BRO MDT PFE LOW HOG KO MRK (highest recommendation for MRK) DIS SBUX MXIM

HOLD - AMGN FDO UNH

WATCH -WMT - nibble at 54.63, double up at 49.25 or so.

Purchase quality stocks that are "on sale". I will try to hold for at least a year unless fundamentals deteriorate.

WMT has experienced quite a run as of late, why do you think that stock is "on sale" at those prices

I did not say buy WMT now...It is on my watch list. I would buy 1% worth of my total portfolio at $54.63 and add another 2% worth of my total portfolio around $49.25.
Todays close was around $58.56.

Nice selection with the exception of MXIM. She is in the pink sheets. My fist choice from your list would be PFE followed by HOG.

I would leave out BBBY but other than that it looks good, sticking with the large caps
