Momentum trades today 1-08-08

The price of gold has risen $16.00 over night. Also with over 50% of economists saying we are moving into a recession this morning, look for good momentum in the gold mining stocks this morning and today. Thus creating opportunities for good gains in this sector today and possibly the rest of the week. AUY closed at $14.36 yesterday and is now trading at $14.92 in pre market activity. Similarly GFI closed at $15.77 and has reached $16.78 in premarket trading! With recession looming, keep an eye on this sector.
