If you are a technical trader then decision point is a great resource, if you are pure fundamentals then everything you need can be found for free online

There may be a time to pay for additional data or information but make sure you have maximized your free sources before you move on to paying for anything

Why pay when advisors exist? Most data can be obtained for free.

If you're a long term investor you might find free on line info very useful even though being old ones. Paying doesn't necessarily mean good performance or brings any advantage. For example my two online brokers provide an excellent research tools what are included in commission paid, but honestly, I rarely using it. I often find myself selecting and analyzing stocks from very different sources around the net. But in case you really need a help from paid newsletters than select those you may trust and have long term track records. There are a lot around they have not.

just because most data is free doesnt mean that every individual investor will know how to profit from it. You can read the same annual report as Warren Buffet but I doubt youll be able to invest like him

What are the best free services out there? I'm been researching various services as I am relatively new to investing. I have not bought any services yet, mainly because my portfolio is relatively small, and I don't have $5,000 - $10,000 to invest in their recommendations. I would like to do some shadow investing while I learn on my own. One bit of advice I have learned quickly is you need to distinguish the difference financial analysts and paid marketers.
