If investors are able to stomach this stock’s very high volatility, there are two key factors that should bode well for BQI in the long term (both assume BQI is able to demonstrate the ability to extract oil from the ground). First, oil prices are not likely to return to levels at which extracting crude oil from bitumen not a profitable venture. Second, Canada is a fully developed 1st world country. This makes BQI attractive to larger oil producers who are looking to expand production without the risk of radical governments nationalizing their investments. Any positive news that comes from steam extraction tests this summer could be the catalyst that breaks this stock out of the $3 – 5 range for good.
