It was formerly known as Mobile National Corporation and changed its name to South Alabama Bancorporation, Inc. in 1993. Further, the company changed its name to BancTrust Financial Group, Inc. in 2002. BancTrust Financial Group is headquartered in Mobile, Alabama.
