International Speedway Corporation promotes motorsports entertainment activities in the United States. It primarily conducts racing events at its motorsports facilities. The company’s motorsports facilities promote stock car, open wheel, sports car, truck, motorcycle, and other racing events. International Speedway also uses its track facilities for testing teams, driving schools, riding experiences, car shows, auto fairs, and concerts, as well as for settings to television commercials, print advertisements, and motion pictures. In addition, the company rents show cars for promotional events; maintains a motorsports-themed entertainment complex; creates motorsports-related programming content carried on radio stations, including a satellite radio service; and provides catering services, and food and beverage concessions. As of November 30, 2007, International Speedway owned and operated 13 motorsports facilities in the states of Florida, Alabama, Michigan, Virginia, California, Kansas, Arizona, Illinois, South Carolina, and New York. The company was founded in 1953 as Bill France Racing, Inc. and changed its name to Daytona International Speedway Corporation in 1957. Later, it changed its name to International Speedway Corporation in 1968. The company is based in Daytona Beach, Florida.
