The company’s Clinical Technologies and Services segment develops, manufactures, leases, and sells medical technology products, including Alaris intravenous medication safety and infusion therapy delivery systems, software applications, needle-free disposables and related patient monitoring equipment, and Pyxis dispensing systems. The segment also offers pharmacy services and clinical intelligence solutions. Its Medical Products Manufacturing segment develops and manufactures medical and surgical products, including infection prevention products and medical specialties products for distribution to hospitals, physician offices, surgery centers, and other healthcare providers. Cardinal Health was founded in 1979 as Cardinal Distribution, Inc. and changed its name in July 1994. Cardinal Health is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio.
