Teva recently took a short term nose dive due to its failure to extend patent protection on a higher dose of one of its drugs. The real story, though, may be that it appears the drug Azilect is the first drug to slow the progression of Parkinson's disease. Applications are pending for use in the <st1:country-region> <st1:place> US </st1:place> </st1:country-region> , but rumor has it that Doctors are already prescribing it off-label. It very well could be a long term block buster. With Teva already a leader in this market they are poised to really take advantage of this development.
