In looking at fundamentals, the stock has lost >17% of value in a small amount of time. I beleive the overall financial markets are bringing this down even though optionsxpress clients have been faring well by utilizing hedging strategies. The numbers are still going up when it comes to account growth and darts. While it may not be meeting expectations, I believe the P/E of <19 is discounting their potential growth. They are heavily investing in futures and opening up the trading arena of futures for beginners as well as professionals. Their commission rate structure seems outdated compared with some of the other discount brokers, but when you look at what they give you as compared to the standard features that come with your oxptionsxpress account versus what comes with the competitors standard features, optionsxpress comes out ahead. Barron's hasn't ranked them as the best, but rankings can't ever predict the future and optionsxpress has very intuitive features that help investors and traders alike.
