(THC) Tenet Healthcare Corporation provides health care services primarily through the operation of general hospitals in the United States. The company owns or leases physician practices, captive insurance companies, and various other ancillary health care businesses, including outpatient surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, occupational and rural health care clinics. Its hospitals offer acute care services, operating and recovery rooms, radiology services, respiratory therapy services, clinical laboratories, and pharmacies; intensive care, critical care, and/or coronary care units; physical therapy; and orthopedic, oncology, and outpatient services. The hospitals also provide tertiary care services, such as open-heart surgery, neonatal intensive care, and neuroscience; quaternary care services in various areas, including heart, lung, liver, and kidney transplants; and bone marrow transplants. In addition, its hospitals perform gamma-knife brain surgery; and cyberknife surgery for tumors and lesions in the brain, lung, neck, and spine. As of December 31, 2006, the company operated 64 general hospitals, 1 cancer hospital, and 2 critical access hospitals, with a total of 16,310 licensed beds serving urban and rural communities in 12 states; and 2 rehabilitation hospitals; 1 long-term acute care hospital; and 1 skilled nursing facility. Tenet Healthcare was founded in 1967 and is headquartered in Dallas, Texas. (NYSE:THC) Let's go to the chart:
 TENET SIX MONTH CHART - WAY OVERSOLD? Six months ago Tenet was trading above $6. Just a few days ago it crossed below a buck for its 99-cent 52 week low. We truly do live in a different world. But I think this stock is massively undervalued, and it really unfairly beat up. It is the very definition of "over sold." Did you read this a few days ago on Tenet? "Is a $1 stock worth the risk?" (Fortune) I am going to pick and choose one key quote from that article: The downside of a $1 stock is limited - the company's shares can only dip by pennies. Beyond that, there's the threat of Chapter 11, but most analysts don't foresee that in Tenet's near future. "The likelihood of bankruptcy in the next few years - there's no chance," says Sheryl Skolnick of CRT Capital. "There isn't a catalyst for it to happen." END QUOTE On balance, they have cash. They have debt, but the cash can more than keep up with it. They have a very much needed business. We have all read stories like this one: "Obama's Health Care Agenda Arrives In Washington" (Forbes) That is why this play has risk. We really do not know what is going happen to healthcare over the next four years. But - this is a shorter term play for me. I see this as a quick 20% and get out. I think it could double from here. Let the economy get better and we could see more than modest increase. That will take some time. What I think could happen in 90 days or less... a quick 20% gain and out.
