I picked it based on a number of factors.
The first was the depressed stock price; MVSN was aquiring Gemstar-TV guide and had since the aquisition was announced seen its stock price take a major hit.
Knowing that MVSN was already a company for great growth potential, and factoring in that its new aquisition, Gemstar, would either be sold off or become reorganized with a new mission to deliver content to more in-demand areas, i knew that MVSN would certainly see its stock price return to its pre-merger levels.
The company continued to have solid fundamentals and earnings reports that didnt seem to point at all to a company that should see its stock price declining.
Additionally, the company for the past year, especially since its agreement with Gemstar has been positioning itself to expand, entering into numerous acquisition agreements with companies that would help MVSN in the long run. However, MVSN didnt only seek to aquire new assets, it also sought to sell off assets it believed were non-essential or could raise cash (see eMata, TV Games Network)
