An FDA advisory panel of outside experts is set to vote on Tuesday on whether to back approval for Pfizer's HIV drug candidate Maraviroc for patients already treated with other drugs.

The FDA reviewers have already said their analyses of the drug's effectiveness were consistent with Pfizer's (PFE). The company's studies showed the HIV virus was suppressed in about 45 percent of patients who took the drug. Now it's down to the safety review tomorrow.

Monogram has partnered with Pfizer with through it's diagnostic test, Trofile, that determines which patients are suited to receive Pfizer's HIV drug Maraviroc.

An FDA advisory committee voted unanimously to recommend approval of Pfizer's HIV drug Maraciroc.  Monogram Biosciences has partnered with Pfizer and will screen potential patients for suitability with it's proprietary diagnostic test, Trofile.  

The stock traded lower towards the end of the session as the announcement was made late in the day.  Tomorrow should be a good day for those holding a long position.

 Pfizer's proposed the brand name Celsentri for the drug.
