living in florida for the last 6 years i have watched this bank grow very agressively. they have sacrificed earnings for growth over the last several years but have really built one heck of a powerhouse of a bank in florida. bbx also owns ryan beck which is an investment banking firm which will be taken public in the future, this has already been announced publicly, and proceeds will eithor be spun off to existing shareholders or increase dividend or share buybacks. also when this occurs bbx will become a pure bank play in florida. as we all know this is the most sought after area for bank mergers/purchases. i personally own this stock for the long haul.
