Amedisys specializes in at-home hospice care. Hospice is a special form of care that is designed to provide comfort and support for those who are facing a life-limiting illness. They provide all medical staff, equipment, and supplies to your home. Personally, if I were to die of illness...I would be more comfortable in my own home rather than the hospital. Fortune magazine ranks Amedisys No.7 fastest growing companies. With more Americans getting older, I see a bright future for this company. Current earnings report was very strong, however the balance sheet appears a little shaky. Current ratio is below par, but they have been using their cash to acquire other companies this year and they have strong free cash flow. Their financials don't worry me, but the percentage of shares shorted (32.5%) do.
