Novastar Financial, Inc. operates as a specialty finance company that originates, purchases, securitizes, sells, invests in and services residential nonconforming loans and mortgage-backed securities. The Company operates three core businesses: mortgage portfolio management, mortgage lending and loan servicing. Company’s branch operations segment was discontinued as of June 30, 2006.
