TiVO's intellectual property rights will ultimately win the day. Their patent on the ability for a set-top box to simultaneously record two shows at once while watching the other will lead to a settlement w/ Echostar and future high-margin royalty payments. TiVO will also likely be a takeout candidate. For under a billion bucks one of the major cable guys could swoop in and suck in their portfolio of subs and software. They have advertising opportunities along w/ software download opportunities to increase sales going forward as well. TiVO owns the DVR business for those people in America and Internationaly that still have Analog reception....Middle America and still plenty of opportunity
