Vodafone seems to be tumbling, especially after the purchase of Hassar in India, but lets not forget that the competition in the Mobiles industry is becoming stiff by the day due to market pressures. Besides that the regulatory bodies, are as well making it harder for a global player like them to keep the revenues they've enjoyed for years. Now the company seeks more venues to spread brand and to source revenue, as in the Hassar case, the UK mobile market seems to be saturated. The competition is changing from being a differetiated product to being a cost effective centred company. With more mobile internet price wars, and broadband, the expansion to 50% in India, a 40% in Turkey, embrassing the Myspace we are going to see Vod resurrect from wherever it tends to be going and rise to the expectations of its holding shareholders. Will it rise to more than it was 12months ago? Not really, its however what I'd call a steady growth for an investor rather than a trader.
