In a recent article by Real Money's Hal Uy, he discussed the implications of the software that this technology company provides. Their technology allows users to search for video itself through ocr, speech recognition, phonetic search, etc instead of just the title the owner decides to label it. He and I agree that the current system used by media sites is tedious and will soon be outdated. Mainly being used by universities, companies like blackboard.com, and companies recording lectures or earnings calls, this serachable video idea will soon migrate to mainstream sites. Either SOFO will partner with larger companies like Google and Yahoo to house their growing video warehouses, or it will be outright acquired by one. SOFO's future is bright indeed.
