These guys aren't sticks in the mud. They're not waiting to see what will happen. They're making moves.
- CEO Schultz is back and he will help reestablish the brand and create the necessary vintage. It will be cool to go to Starbucks again.
- They're dumping the hot breakfast food that had so many locations smelling like McMuffin.
- Hundreds of stores planned or underperforming in North America are shelved. Focus will be on rewarding the purchaser of a $5 coffee the kind of excellence they previously diluted.
I see the $30 in 12 to 18. Look for a far better bottom line for the '09 fiscal.
