There is a saying that Alchohol and Pornography will always perform well in a recession. This sentence is pointing to the fact that unemployed people can't afford to maintain positive relationships. This leads to human contact through photographs and self medication. Books are another form of affordable human contact, which is enjoyed by a larger market than Porn.

The internet has made the younger generation more literate than has been estimated. There is no question that education quality is failing in the across the United States, but the impulse to find information is at an all time high.

Similar to the way that the Iphone has driven music consumption, the internet will drive book consumption.
