Verizon (VZ) Flanks The Cable Guys Again
Verizon (NYSE: VZ) has started to give the cable companies fits with its new fiber-based TV and broadband services. The offering has all of the advantages of cable products and claims to have faster connection speeds. Even if it does not, cable now has direct competition from a company with a hefty balance sheet and plenty of landline and cellular customers who may want to add another service.

It will be interesting to see how regulators respond to VZ, historically the government has not been able to keep regulations up to par with technology which may mean ample opportunity or unnecessary burden. |

VZ is building now for huge gains in the next 2-5 years. They are creaping in on the big cables providers with their FIOS implementation and they are already the largest wireless phone provider (and their customers are more profitable per phone then any other wireless provider). Theor dividends are good and the stock price is reasonable for our BEAR market. Buy and DCA VZ. VZ is a long term investment. |
