Filed under: Major movement, Earnings reports, Dell (DELL), Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), Sun Microsystems (JAVA), Stocks to Sell, Technology Shares of one-time tech stalwart, Sun Microsystems (NASDAQ: JAVA) soared more than 20% yesterday after the computer server and software company posted better-than-expected results for its second fiscal quarter of 2009, which ended Dec. 28, 2008. Sun said it lost $208 million, or 28 cents per share, in the quarter, but absent one-time items it would have earned $114 million, or 15 cents per share. Revenue was $3.22 billion.
