Brocade (BRCD) shares are on the rise this morning amid a fresh round of rumors that the company might be acquired by Hewlett-Packard (HPQ). Briefing.com says there is talk that HP could bid “in the low teens.”

This all started, of course, with a Wall Street Journal story that said the company has begun shopping for a buyer. That piece named HP and Oracle as the most likely buyers; Oracle Chairman Larry Ellison yesterday said his company is not interested in buying Brocade.

Bernstein Research earlier this week asserted that any buyer for Brocade would like pay $13-a-share or more.

Brocade today is up 63 cents, or 7%, to $9.68.
