Headset maker Plantronics (PLT) this evening reported fiscal Q2 revenue and profit comfortably ahead of estimates, but forecast Q3 results short of expectations.


Revenue in the second fiscal quarter fell 23% to $169.4 million, the company reported, ahead of an average estimate of $155.1 million, yielding profit per share of share of 40 cents, excluding some costs, ahead of the average 31-cent estimate.


For Q3, the company forecast revenue of $155 million to $160 million, below the average $164 million estimate, and profit per share of 38 to 42 cents, ahead of the average 37-cent estimate.


Plantronics stock was up 14 cents, or half a percent, at $25.01, after falling 1.6% during the regular session.
