i expected some more resistance from gold cappers. it's ok, i don't expect it to be a big down move, so i'm just holding onto my small position here. I'll look to buy more as we get lower in price.

This is quite good news despite market action today. For several years now i've mentioned that gold would be on it's way to and beyond $1000/oz. Apparently Barrick believes this too and has decided to unhedge their position on their gold. Very good weakness here this morning, It came a bit lower than i had expected it to this morning. Buying down until $33. gold should be breaking $1000/oz very soon. buy and hold is my recommendation for this guy. Barrick will be looking good like the rest of the precious metals sector this fall/winter season.

No Inflation Problem – Analyst Blog

Analytically, there are three components to an interest rate. The first is the risk that the money will not be paid back. This is a very big factor when dealing with corporate bonds, especially junk bonds. For the U.S. government's obligations, as the owner of a nice shiny printing press that can always be turned on to pay back any obligation denominated in dollars, that part is assumed to be zero.
The second part is expected inflation. After all, if you decide that you want to consume something later, rather than today, and thus decide to save and invest your money, you want to be sure the ...

Leading gold producer, Goldcorp’s (GG) adjusted net profit in the third quarter of 2009 more than doubled to 19 cents from last year’s 9 cents on higher gold prices and lower cash costs per ounce of gold. Reported earnings were also higher than the Zacks Consensus estimate of 15 cents.

Revenues were up 25% to $691.9 million from $552.2 million in the previous year driven by a 12% rise in average realized prices to $968 per ounce from $865 p...

Another Growth Spurt for Silver Wheaton
Following up on a previous article discussing the Pascua-Luma deal with Barrick Gold (ABX), more good news keeps rolling in, but this time through a few streams previously in their pipeline. Aside from continuing to seek out additional acquisitions ( which they will succeed in doing yet again), they have the rights to purchase considerable portions from one of the largest undeveloped silver mines. <>1) The Navidad project (Argentina), currently under construction by Aquiline Resources, is among the top 5 undeveloped silver mines in the world. It is comprised of seven zones, one of which Silver>...

Eldorado Gold: A Cost-Effective Way to Move Into Gold
This morning traders on the NYSE were greeting with the executives from the Eldorado Gold Corporation (EGO) starting the session with the opening bell. It marked EGO’s move from the AMEX listing to the NYSE. The stock is up just slightly over interest generated from this move Thursday, even as gold moves .5% lower to $1059. Does this move also symbolize EGO’s desire to play with the big boys of gold production: Barrick Gold (ABX) Kinross Gold (KGC) and GoldCorp (GG)? Not quite. <><>The move does give them access to cheaper capital that they can use to buy out their competitors. With gold >>...
