Alcon is the dominant player in the opthalmic market including drugs, devices, and over the counter eyecare products.  As the boomers get older, they'll start going blind.

They also can benefit from the emerging markets getting wealthier so that their people with bad eyesight can start affording these treatments.

I was looking through the list of top % gainers on the NYSE this evening and came across Alcon, ACL, which closed at $129.77, up $9.02 or 7.47% on the day. I do not own any shares of Alcon, but my son does own 5 shares in an account that I monitor.
