the indicators on this one are not conclusive.  some point towards a rally for this stock based on resistance levels while some point towards continued decline.  I believe its the smart thing to close this one out while it still has a reasonable gain (while not huge, its still a winner).

Revenue at the San Rafael, Calif. software company grew 17.8% to $619.5 million, from $525.9 million for the same quarter of last year. Analysts were expecting revenue of $606.4 million, according to Thomson Reuters.

Net income fell 2% to $89.8 million, or 39 cents a share, from $91.6 million, or 38 cents a share, in the year-ago period.

Excluding special items, EPS was 56 cents. Analysts were looking for earnings of 52 cents a share.

Shares were up $1.65, or 4.8%, to $36 in extended trading.

this company specializes in software development for industrial and architectural design. They have an eye on the future. I believe that come this winter, even if the construction market doesn't rebound (which it may) this company will have their hands full with the boom that we will see in renewable energy systems.

15.11-2007 Autodesk stockcharts updates. Not sure if these yellow lines marks another smaller rising bear range for pricetick, oscillators however showed some bullish improvement recently, but in longer run this chart is as bearish as my Adobe one (even this is bit smaller in priceterms), only exception is that that this one could still try to hit very top again, but for me situation has not changed, everything in the top of the wedge is short for me. With the sub-prime melt-down, ADSK took a bit of a hit. Luckily, they also reported strong earnings...as they did the quarter before, and the one before that, and the one before that, etc., etc. So why the volatility for such a strong performer? IMHO, Autodesk stock suffers from a misunderstanding about their business(es). Not only are they less reliant on AutoCAD than people assume, they're better able to capitalize on global trends than people give them credit for. They continue to beat estimates Q-to-Q and don't look like they'll be slowing down anytime soon.

ADSK shares have languished recently and expect it to continue sliding as business trends are weakening.  Lack of upside likely in results and in guidance going foward.  While FY07 could be more positive in terms of upgrades and the transition to 3-D tools, believe concerns related to general economy and specifically, the housing market will continue to weigh on shares.
