With the sub-prime melt-down, ADSK took a bit of a hit. Luckily, they also reported strong earnings...as they did the quarter before, and the one before that, and the one before that, etc., etc. So why the volatility for such a strong performer? IMHO, Autodesk stock suffers from a misunderstanding about their business(es). Not only are they less reliant on AutoCAD than people assume, they're better able to capitalize on global trends than people give them credit for. They continue to beat estimates Q-to-Q and don't look like they'll be slowing down anytime soon.
