Solar cannot be overlooked anymore, Akeena will be top 3 solar companies in US in the years to come. Instead of people spending 25k on a kitchen remodel spend it on solar. It will make more sense to people once people understand the logistics, and that solar is not like it was in the 70's. It just needs to get shoved in their face. :)

I like this one..I've been to their new offices in Los Gatos, CA. They seem very legit. They're not a producer of solar, but a designer that implements them to homes and businesses. They are opening more operations around the country. Right now, solar upgrades are expensive on the retail end. But eventually, prices will level out. The angle you want to play is this company's growth in market share. New product announcements will drive this stock along with earnings since it is mature enough for it to count. It's not one of those companies that trade just on news alone. The downside is tha...

Akeena Shares Up Despite Q2 Rev Miss; Smaller Net Loss
In a good omen, perhaps, for solar technology makers First Solar (FSLR) and Evergreen Solar (ESLR), which report tonight after the bell, Akeena Solar (AKNS) shares are rising despite a top-line miss in the company’s Q2 report this morning. Akeena said revenue in Q2 fell 17%, year over year, to $5.9 million, lower than the $7.1 million consensus forecast, but thanks to a 30% drop year over year in operating expenses, the company was able to report a net loss of 9 cents per share in profit, above the 11-cent loss expected and narrower than the 18-cent loss a year earlier. <>The company record>...

Small-Cap Green Energy Stocks Stage Huge Rally
So, uh, does anyone else think that the small-cap green energy stocks are looking a little frothy? As I noted yesterday, the solar stocks in general have been rallying impressively, doubling off their March lows. But what strikes me this morning is how the whole green energy sector - in particular, small- and micro-cap names - have move dramatically higher in just the last few sessions. Examples: <><>DayStar Technologies (DSTI), today is up 28 cents, or 26.7%, to $1.33. Since Friday, it is up 87%. Last month, the company said it was running out of cash and might for bankrupt. Solar: Rally Extends; Rising Demand Vs. Lower Prices
There’s quite a rally going on in the solar stocks, as the Street engages in a spirited debate on the offsetting impact of rising demand and lower prices. <>Solar stocks have roughly doubled off their March lows - and at least for now, the bulls on the sector continue to have the upper hand. In a research note this morning, Cowen analyst Robert Stone asserts that the recent run in the stocks has further to go. “Some observers may argue that it is time to take profits after the strong recent gains in many PV stocks,” he writes. “However, we believe there are additional triggers ahead, notable<>><>><>><>>><>><><>><>><>><>><>><>><>><>>><><>><>><>>><><>><>><>><>><>>><><>>><><>><>><>>><>><><><>>><><>>><><>>><><>>><><>>><><>>><><>>>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...
