<> Amid mixed reviews regarding the Q3 earnings report for Advanced Micro Devices, there lies a positive note for this chipmaker. Though the stocks took a quick tumble in morning trading after the report release, they quickly regained momentum and quickly climbed in the late afternoon showing that investors have not yet given up on the ability of this company to make progress in Q4. This may be for good reason. Their woes began when they delayed the release of a new product for two quarters while they revamped the architecture for the Phenom processor. Trading at a price to sales of .5 compared to intel of over 4. Will be selling the fabs for a huge cash infusion, has the best gpu and very competitive in the cpu market. With no viable competitors other intel and nvidia this stock below 10 is a no-brainer.

Now that AMD has just annouced their CEO swallowed more than he can chew. What next? bigtech.blogs.fortune.cnn.com/2008/07/17/new-amd-chief-likes-getting-his-hands-dirty/ Will AMD become the nex PC Dinosaur? I hope not. We need another PC company to keep Intel honest. Where would Coke be without Pepsi? Boeing without Airbus? Visa without MasterCard? Heck even DC versus Marvel Comics! <> How low can AMD go? Sure they could go to Zero in the next two years. Intel Charged in Antitrust Suit – Analyst Blog

The $6.0 billion payment made by the world's largest chip maker Intel Corporation (INTC) over a five year period through January 2007 to its largest customer Dell Inc. (DELL) -- under programs initially titled 'MOAP' (Mother of all Programs) and then 'MCP’ (Meet Competition Payments) -- has backfired on Intel.
This is the basis on which an antitrust lawsuit filed recently by the New York attorney general alleging a long business relationship between Intel and Dell. Andrew M. Cuomo filed a federal lawsuit against Intel, accusing the largest chip maker of paying computer makers illegal r...

Maxim Integrated Products Inc.’s (MXIM) first quarter earnings beat consensus estimates by a penny. Revenue was over the high-end of management’s guidance range of $415-445 million, or a sequential increase of 5-13%.
Revenue Revenue of $449.2 million was up 13.9% sequentially and down 10.4% year over year. The sequential strength in demand was reflective of the rebound in the semiconductor sector and follows stronger results reported by other chip companies, such as Linear Technology (LLTC), Intel Corp. N.Y. AG Cuomo Sues Intel; Alleges Huge Kickbacks Paid To PC Makers
Intel (INTC) is a law-breaking bully. Or at least, that is the implication of a new lawsuit against the chipmaker today filed by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo filed antitrust charges in federal court in Delaware today alleging that the company threatened computer hardware companies Hewlett-Packard, Dell and IBM for getting to close to rival Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) - and that it also paid PC makers billions of dollars in kickbacks in the form of “rebates” to keep they from using rivals’ chips. Intel denied Cuomo’s allegations. <>The WSJ notes that Cuomo’s office bega<>< />>><><>>><>><><>><>><>>><>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

Will Nvidia Take On Intel In x86 Processors?
Rumors have resurfaced about Nvidia (NVDA) taking on Intel (INTC) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in the x86-based microprocessor market, according to EETimes. The trade magazine’s Web site says that that have been reports “for some time” that NVDA might move into the microprocessor sector to protect its core graphics chip business, which is now coming under threat from Intel and AMD, which are developing processors with more graphics capability. The story asserts that Nvidia has been quietly hiring former employees of Transmeta, a now-defunct producer of x86-based processors. <>The EETim>...
