BQI: Bull or Bear?
Oilsands Quest: Looking to Break Out (Jim Cramer Edition)

As I wrote on June 3rd, Oilsands Quest (BQI) has now broken out. I'm not an extreme technician and not looking for any kudos, but I am happy for the recognition this powerhouse has finally achieved. <>You see, the world clearly needs oil and the companies that are doing their part to solve the problem should be richly rewarded for their efforts. Oil is not water and when it is burned it is gone forever. That's a fact any smart investor can take as truth. What can't be taken as truth until confirmed are terms like speculation and Peak Oil. Plain and simple, oil burns, it's finite, and get used >...

On Friday, after trading down after lunch time (eastern time), Oilsands Quest (BQI) rallied from being down $0.12 to ending the day up $0.39, or by 6.7%. <>After the close, it became apparent why. Clearly, someone got word that Jim Cramer would be talking about the stock in his segment. Jim Cramer mentioned BQI very favorably in a 6 ½ minute segment of his “Speculation Friday” show. In the segment, he mentioned that BQI could be a takeout target and could be worth about $16 dollars per share. He also said that, even if you discount the stock by 50%, he said it should be worth $8.34 per sha>...

Recent Happenings
Last week, there was some unusual trading activity in Oilsands Quest Inc. (BQI) and BQI call options, which leads me to believe that something is brewing at BQI. First, on Thursday, the volume and open interest on the BQI Oct $7.50 calls increased significantly, as referenced in the Seeking Alpha article titled "Thursday Options Outlook: XLF, LEH, BUD, CMI, TXN, CHK, KEY, FTO, BQI". Currently, the open interest on those options stands at 10,169 contracts, up significantly from less than 2,000 contracts only a few days ago.

Oilsands Quest: Looking to Breakout

I'd like to keep this simple and effective. First, I am very long Oilsands Quest (BQI). Second, I've patiently built my position in the largest oilsands exploration company in Sask and possibly the world. Third, I'm due and so are several smart investors who have been building their positions for the last two years. So what's the catch? No catch, just an undervalued peak oil play with over 40% institutional ownership. Oh, and many rounds of financing. But is that really unheard of for an exploration play? No!

If investors are able to stomach this stock’s very high volatility, there are two key factors that should bode well for BQI in the long term (both assume BQI is able to demonstrate the ability to extract oil from the ground). First, oil prices are not likely to return to levels at which extracting crude oil from bitumen not a profitable venture. Second, Canada is a fully developed 1st world country. This makes BQI attractive to larger oil producers who are looking to expand production without the risk of radical governments nationalizing their investments. Any positive news that comes f...

As we all know, BQI is one of the most promising companies out there in the business pertaining to the Western Canadian Oil Shales. Its the only company that has a market capital of $1 Billion+ at a bargain price which fluctuates between the high 4's and high 5's; with the exception of the 6.38 jump in november which was a freak rally. It fell back to 5.20 within one week. A good entry point at the current moment is around low 4's to mid 4's for a long shot. But realistically speaking we might not see a dip that low for a while. Although it has fallen to 4.53 when BQI announced an IPO of...
