Being European, it's hard to fully grasp some of the more 'embedded' backgrounds of the US Stock Market. Maybe the analysis of US restaurants is part of that. On paper, Cheesecake Factory shows decent figures, decent P/E and Forward P/E, decent financial results, a stock buyback program and overall, I can't see anything wrong with the stock. Yet, it's not really popular on SocialPicks, which might mean I'm missing something important. <> In my view, the chain has what it takes. It offers variety, has a clear target audience, is quaint in its massiveness and seems to attract people in ma>...

I'm big on healthcare and diet. I don't think the cheesecake is going to last into 2010. Plus, as far as a real estate play goes, it just rents not owns. Recent news of GGP trying to muscle the factory out of its business should be a hint. Nobody likes cheesy cause the sales are slipping.

CAKE is located usually at shopping centers. It is a bit of an upscale Applebee's attended by those shoppers who would spend a day at the malls buying things they couldn't afford and topping it off with a meal. I think the pressure currently seen on the consumer will hurt CAKE as less people go to the mall and the ones who do get things they need, not overpriced meals. Sell

The Cheesecake (CAKE) factory operates 160 upscale casual dining restaurants- 146 Cheesecake Factories, 13 Grand Lux Cafes and 1 Rock Sugar Pan Asian Kitchen. They also license two limited-menu bakery café outlets. Their baked goods are sold through their restaurants as well as through third party outlets. <><>From its founding year of 1978 right through 2005 the Cheesecake Factory did nothing but grow. Sales and earnings grew rapidly and consistently. Since then the weakening economy took its toll with a slight EPS drop off in 2006 and then a larger one last year before an expected partial re>>...

Look for Cheesecake Factory to be among the success stories when the recession ends
Filed under: Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), Stocks to Buy The U.S.'s 'frugal consumer' era will lead to many casualties in the restaurant chain sector, but The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated (NASDAQ: CAKE) won't be one, which is why I'm reiterating my Buy rating for CAKE, first recommended on June 25, 2009 at a price of $16.30.
Don't expect anything spectacular from CAKE in FY2009 -- flattish to slightly higher same store sales, and only a slight increase in revenue, with most likely a net zero increase in restaurants operated. The aforementioned doesn't sound like much, but at the retail/resta...

Yum's Got Appetizing Long Term Offerings
<>I started a small position in YUM! Brands (YUM) at $33.60 for my long term stock portfolio. I have had YUM! on my radar for awhile and it piqued my interest when I heard Karen Finerman discussing YUM! on CNBC’s Fast Money. She discussed how YUM! was trading at a cheaper valuation than other casual dining chains like Cheesecake Factory (CAKE). YUM! is trading at 15 times earnings for the current fiscal year. While I don’t think that YUM! is expensive at $33 per share, I don’t think the shares are a steal either. YUM!’s shares appear fairly valued based on current earnings expectations of $><><>>>...

The Cheesecake Factory: A decent menu in a lamentable sector
Filed under: Cheesecake Factory (CAKE), Stocks to Buy It goes without saying that, in general, I believe one of the worst American inventions has been the restaurant chain. Chains represent a vast wasteland, from a culinary standpoint, along with other shortcomings. The citizens of France wonder how Americans tolerate such horrible dining options. Comment les Américains tolèrent de tels aliments? Moreover, in the U.S.'s 'frugal consumer' era, several chains are destined to close.
But one or two chains represent an exception to the above, and The Cheesecake Factory (NASDAQ: CAKE) is one. Her...
