What a volatile week we had in the market! The Dow closed out the week Friday with a 281.42 point loss representing a 2.09% pullback in that index. The NASDAQ composite was even worse closing at 2,511.25 down 64.73 just on Friday alone, a loss of 64.73 points or 2.51% on the index.

Sometimes it's best not to buy the top-quality companies. This is one of those times when the worst stock can outpace its peers. It's hard for me to give up on buying companies with the best fundamentals. That's my training. But that's not where the action is. This is a market that loves "junk".

Unlike Talbots, Chico's (NYSE: CHS) is already chic. This retail stock doesn't need a boost from Mrs. Obama, but an endorsement wouldn't hurt either.

Its White House/Black Market stores have seen explosive growth over the past decade and seem to have the type of products that would look good in the real White House.

In the immediate aftermath of the credit crisis, shares of CHS collapsed.
