Aerospace electronics company Rockwell Collins Inc reported a 19 percent rise in quarterly profit on Friday, helped by expanding margins in its government and commercial businesses. For the fiscal third quarter ended June 30, net income rose to $174 million, or $1.07 per share, from $146 million, or 86 cents per share, a year earlier. Solid management, good fundamentals, %50 increase in dividend announced this year. They are suppling the avionics and in flight entertainment systems on both the Dreamliner and A350, so no matter which design dominates they make money. Also the acquisition of Athena in spring will have them suppling avionics for a majority of UAV designs for the coming future.

Rockwell Collins Inc. (COL) missed the Zacks Consensus earnings per share (EPS) estimate 4 cents and reported 84 cents per share in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 (ended Sept. 30). It also fell 29 cents short of the year-ago figure of $1.13 in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008.
The company clocked EPS of $3.73 in fiscal 2009, lower than both the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $3.76 and the fiscal 2008 EPS of $4.16.
