Canadian Solar Inc. (CSIQ) reported adjusted EPS of 69 cents in the third quarter of fiscal 2009, which pushed past the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 52 cents per share. Also, adjusted EPS for the quarter was far higher than the year-ago quarter’s 31 cents.

Canadian Solar (CSIQ) reported improving results and would have you believe that the trend is up and away. After all we are solving the world’s energy crisis. What they do not point out is that despite the corporate name they hardly have any operations in Canada. Most of their revenues come from Europe (well over 85% last quarter) but most of their manufacturing is in China. The revenues in Asia are anaemic. Asia needs to become energy efficient also so you have to wonder about the marketing strategy.

The solar company announced that it raked in a third-quarter profit of $25.3 million, or 69 cents per share, while revenue dipped 16% to $213.1 million. Canadian Solar (CSIQ) this morning posted better-than-expected Q3 results. The solar products company reported revenue of $213.1 million, down from $252.4 million a year ago, but up from $114.2 million in Q2, and ahead of the Street at $210.9 million. EPS of 69 cents a share beat the Street at 54 cents.
