Cypress Semi Q3 Tops Ests; But Stock Slips

Cypress Semiconductor (CY) this morning posted Q3 revenue of $178.7 million, down 20% year over year, but up 15% sequentially, and ahead of the Street consensus estimate of $174.4 million.
The chipmaker posted a non-GAAP profit of 10 cents a share, well ahead of the Street at 6 cents. On a GAAP basis, the company lost $19.7 million, or 13 cents a share. Q3 book-to-bill was 1.21. Non-GAAP gross margin was 51.9%, up from 44.2% in the June quarter.
Nonetheless, CY this morning is down 34 cents, or 3.3%, to $9.94.
