Even though the market is up today, We are probably due for a short-term pullback this week.  The S&P 500 is trading above 760 and could pull back to a little below 700 this week.  After this next pullback we should see a rally back to 8,000 on the Dow and 800-820 on the S&P 500.  The Russell 2000 should perform similarly.

Yesterday, I posted the following analysis:

The financial sector appears to have bottomed over the last couple of days.  House hearings on Mark to Market accounting are scheduled for Thursday.  If there is any hint of suspension or repeal of Mark to Market accounting will send the financial sector into a nice short-term rally.  If they reinstated the uptick rule that would be icing on the cake.  The only negative is that the Treasury Secretary is scheduled to appear before Congress and anytime he speaks it seems to trigger a negative response in the markets.

DDM technically overbought.  Capital managers to sell portions of fund holdings to return money on investor redemptions; institutions holding off for a sharp pullback from a 700 point +8.4% move from 8350-9050 on light volume trading.

The trade yesterday went as I mentioned, fast! It dropped so fast I could not get my dxd fill but caught the bottom on the stall scooping up DDM for a few points. I did sell early once I broke what was suppose to be the stop loss of my short and it still ran but being up is nothing to complain about. Still thinking this type of market until the second week in Feb. Just have to let it unfold and tell you the direction. DDM short term swing up but covering when the signals come in, today closed the BUD option calls, they went too high yesterday and looking for an out on the yahoo short. Still long Circuit City but stuck flat, will cash out next swing as the signals come in. New DOW cycle starts 2-11 so flat into the month. Now what is up with the fed, the more they fight the worst it will be, I thought the fed (which is really a private company and not part of out government as some of you do not know, yes they are a for profit company which controls our money) was suppose to be looking out for the economy...
