Dominos doesn't stand a chance in this environment. People do not want to buy out and frankly Domino's just does not stand up against it's competitors. Sales have been poor and the new menu items are bringing in a large draw. Food costs are as high as they've ever been and financing is very expensive these days. The company has begun to cut costs by closing stores and things will only get worse through the holiday season.

With increased consumerism, how can you expect Domino's Pizza to do badly? With more franchisees opening all over the world... it is bound to do better with every passing day. This is a well managed company though I guess they should keep on training their delivery boys better. But they do keep on changing their menus and that makes it very fascinating for the public. They constantly tempt the public into buying more pizzas and they have very catchy advertising jingles.Certainly a stock to buy and it is a stock that would appreciate pretty well.

Domino’s Pizza Inc. (NYSE:DPZ) announced Q4 and year-end results. Revenues are off dramatically and the investment buzz has been negative as the company fights its way through a variety of problems. The major one being same store sales growth or lack thereof.

Another Pointless TiVo Feature: Order Pizza Via Remote (TIVO, DPZ)

tivo-box.jpgStarting today, TiVo (TIVO) subscribers who see Domino's Pizza (DPZ) ads on their TV screens will be able to hit the "I want it" button on their remote control and get a pie delivered to them. We're not sure why anyone thinks using a TiVo remote to input your order and home address is any more convenient than ordering online at dominos.com (or via the phone), but it's a neat trick.

Papa John's: clicking a billion

A friend of mine -- who recently came to LA -- ordered a Papa John's Int'l, Inc. (Nasdaq: PZZA) pizza. She used the Internet. All in all, it was pretty efficient.

Well, according to a recent report, Papa John's has sold about $1 billion in pizzas (over the past seven years). That's certainly a lot of dough, huh? And, as should be no surprise, the growth rate has been stunning: about 50% per year.
