I am a little late on this one, with the 52wk low @ 20.89. But this is a well managed company that has *reasonable* growth. I would look for this stock to maybe take a hit in the short term, depending on the depth of the recession/slow-down. But 2010? Look for it to get back to the $50 dollar range.

Red Robin Gourmet Burgers Inc. (RRGB), the casual dining restaurant operator, recently reported dismal third-quarter 2009 results. The quarterly earnings of 37 cents per share missed the Zacks Consensus Estimate by a penny and fell 17.8% from 45 cents posted in the prior-year quarter.

Total revenue tumbled 10.4% year-over-year to $187 million, as cash-strapped consumers are either trading down to quick-service restaurants or preferring to eat at home, leading to fall in traffic and same-store sales.

Simply, Darden Restaurants Inc. (NYSE: DRI) will be a restaurant sector survivor, following the sector's restructuring amid the 'frugal consumer' trend, and that's why I'm Reiterating my Buy rating for DRI, first recommended on June 25, 2009 at a price of $32.78.

I was patting myself on the back as I looked at the huge surge in the portfolio today - each and every long position is up, most materially so. Then I went into my watch lists which are literally hundreds upon hundreds of stocks - probably around 400. Excluding 50 or so which are "highly speculative" I can only find about a dozen that are in the red. It's the "buy anything market" brought to you courtesy of the destruction of your currency.
