Equinix Shares Soar On Huge Q1 Beat, Strong Guidance

Equinix (EQIX) shares are sharply higher in after hours trading after the Internet data center company reported Q1 results that dramatically beat the Street’s expectations.

For Q1, the company had revenue of $158.2 million, and a profit of 15 cents a share; the Street had expected $150.6 million and a loss of 13 cents.

For Q2, the company sees revenue of $169 million to $170 million, beating the Street estimate of $158.4 million.

For all of 2008, Equinix sees revenue of $685 million to $700 million, well ahead of the consensus view of $656.6 million.
