Taking my own advice I am going long ITT Educational (ESI) - I'm a huge fan of adult education in a country where unemployed cannot afford it. But I guess that's where government comes in. Thesis baby.

ITT Educational (ESI) hit my $112 (consider getting out of here with a loss) level, has recaptured the 50 day moving average, and has made a series of higher lows and highs... hence I am going to take my marbles, take the 4% loss and move on. When I shorted it, it was below the 50 day moving average but it's responded well. Touche ESI! It might be a good long from here in fact.

This is our second go around with ITT Educational (ESI) on the short side, but last time we were shorting a very strong stock as it was overbought. [Jan 22, 2009: Bookkeeping: Short ITT Educational] This time, we are shorting a stock as it hits resistance. Allocating 2.5% of the fund at around $105 with target in mid $90s (at least) - as long as the stock trades below the 50 day moving average ($107s and dropping) I will keep this short on and trade around a core short position. Over $112 I will duck and cover (as I see the chart today)

ESI - After yesterdays sharp drop the stock has pulled up to the downward trenline. This rally to resistance looks like a good opportunity to short the stock. Look for a retest of the support level at the 97.00 area.

Don't mess with the bulls - they are rocking the house. Yesterday's dip was bought and so far we have an excellent trademark pullback and recovery. Remaining tilted long until we hit S&P 780 and then we have to see how the market reacts. This is the top end of our current range (741-780).

Tomorrow Uncle Ben Bernanke takes off his glasses and unveils his cape at 2:15 PM so we'll see if we hear anything new but it is not a time to press shorts. I can find almost no one who believes in this move (up) (ok Doug Kass does, and so will Jim Cramer until we turn negative for more then 3 hours) so...
