"We have added MSCI Hong Kong Index (NYSE: EWH), an exchange-traded fund, to our buy list," says China region expert Jim Trippon. Here's the latest from The China Stock Digest.

"The fund rose last month despite a report from the Asian development Bank that the zone’s economy would shrink by 4% for the year.

"Those numbers may re?ect an average for the year, but the economic numbers from Hong Kong indicate that the recession has ended there as the zone’s gross domestic product rose a seasonally adjusted 3.3% in the second quarter after plunging 4.3% in the ?rst quarter.

I've received some requests for what I have in my growing limit buy order list, so I've decided to do an update with current candidates. I just want to amplify an excellent blog comment from reader Matthew C. Above we see a daily chart of the S&P 500 Index (SPY; top chart) vs. its 20-day volume-weighted moving average. Note that we've broken below that average today, but remain well above the June highs. That keeps the uptrend intact.
