Chinese media is exploding. I like the fundamentals as well as the fact that this company practically has a monopoly on all major digital media space in China. The only conis the shady management and the opaque company reporting which always adds to your apprehension when looking at a foreign company like this.

With the upcoming olympics, FMCN is in the driver's seat to benefit from the flock of companies that will wanna increase their visibility during that time. They are the leader in their sector in China, where consumption is increasing thanks to ever growing middle class with good puchasing power. Good recent acquisitions. Failure of Focus Media Takeover Good and Bad for SINA

SINA Corporation (SINA) said that it has dropped plans for acquiring Focus Media Holding Limited (FMCN) due to the delay in approval from China's Ministry of Commerce regarding antitrust issues. The companies have decided not to extend the deadline of the agreement.

In order to provide more effective and integrated marketing solutions, SINA entered into a definitive agreement with Focus Media Holding Ltd. in 2008 to acquire substantially all of the assets of Focus Media's digital out-of-home advertising networks, including LCD display network, poster frame network and in-store network.

Chinese Web portal and mobile phone content provider Sina’s (SINA) deal to acquire the billboard operations in China of Focus Media Holding (FMCN) has collapsed today, almost ten months after it was first announced.
