Like the Fed cutting rates to prevent foreclosures in the USA, the Bank of England will also save LIBOR ARM mortgages by cutting rates.  The bet is more ARM's are on LIBOR ARM's and the Bank of England will have it worse than America, and America has it pretty bad.

Texas Instruments (TXN)
On Texas Instruments' disappointing quarter, Pete Najarian said the competition in chips is too intense and Nokia and Ericsson are looking for other suppliers. Jeff Macke does not think TXN is worth it from the long or short view and says it has managed to lose every business it has been involved in.

T he British economy is in as bad shape as the US.Unlike the ECB the BoE has shown its willingness and readiness to destroy the value of the pound.Since the problems in the credit markets,subprime etc was created by excess credit in the first place ,these measures won't work,so I expect more rate cuts by Mervyn King egged on by politicians and financiers.The FTSE should be shorted later(maybe in 2009) once the rate cut induced euphoria wanes down and inflation rears its ugly head.
