Genworth. announced that it has priced a public offering of 48.0 million shares of its class A common stock at a public offer price of $11.75 per share. This created a GAP of yesterday's opening price. The market open price of $11.85 is a upward GAP of approx. 5% of previous close. Upward GAP typically happen when supported with strong fundamentals and large institutional buyers are keen to cash on when the prices are still low. Upward GAP will also indicate a strong resistance at 11.85 to any falling price or market adjustments.
I recommend BUY on this equity.

This may have been a strategic move on Genworth Financial's part but I think I will note that they may be strategic idiots for missing a very big opportunity to become a holding company as a savings and loans institution. This would have given them access to the Federal Reserve free flowing, cheap capital!! What else can we add to the list of things to take away from this strategic company. How about the ability to be eligible for the Treasury's purchase program and now they can't complete the acquisition of Interbank.
