With 9.4% unemployment rather than 9.2% and with non-farm payrolls contracting at -345,000 rather than by more than -500,00, traders had trouble on and off all day long. The BLS even denied rumors that there were errors.

Dr Pepper beats the analysts in Q1
Filed under: Earnings reports, Coca-Cola (KO), PepsiCo (PEP), Hansen Natural (HANS)  Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE: DPS) popped open its first-quarter report on Wednesday (I bet you never read that pun before from a financial pundit covering a beverage concern!). On an adjusted basis, sales rose 4%. Management needed to adjust for the termination of a contract with Hansen (NASDAQ: HANS), as well as for currency effects. The company saw a drop in bottom-line income excluding items as earnings came in at $0.37 per share. This was $0.03 less than last year's performance.

Hansen Natural: Just Like Old Times

<>Scanning the list of stocks at or right next to 52 week highs we have old momentum favorite Hansen Natural (HANS). I used to be in, out, or about this stock a few years ago, but did not realize it was still such a hot commodity. As I look nightly at companies actually growing the top line rather than just slashing and burning their employee force to "beat the number", this is one of the few "new" (but old) names that came up.
Considering $2 or less auto supplier stocks are the hottest segment the past few days in momo land, it's all good - this is actually relatively "cheap" at less than 20x...
