Harry Winston owns mines, fabricates the rocks and sells these stones directly to their customers. They maintain a highly respected brand-name, strong international sales and have a domestic target-market less likely to feel the pinch of an economic slowdown. Management is strong, making solid moves and announcing, what I expect to top wall street expectations, their earnings on Wednesday June 4th, 2008.

Definitively not a HOT stock but something which should pay off in the long term and hold little risk. Diamond industry is consolidating and HWD is doing it's job well, diamond supplies are limited and diamond demand is well... quite stable, even during "bad" times they can be considered an investment and sometimes a necessity.
