IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. (ICE) ICE has been dealing with a support/resistance level in the $90 area going back to August. It is worth watching for a definitive move in either direction. If the stock can't hold above the $90 level, I'll consider a Dec bearish call spread selling the 100's and buying the 105's. On a break above that level a Dec 80/75 bullish put spread might be attractive. In either event a credit in the $1 range could offer a potential 25% return on risk

CME NXM ICE pretty much match each other as oil drops ICE is the smallest value jumping inversly the greatest amount to the OIL Trend.

Call fall when heating oil will kick a little bit back up in winter but fall in spring THESE three may fall just before winter again, but raise on the oil fall for spring. The summer is to far away to see. Lets just get through the fall/winter first.

IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. (ICE) reported its third quarter results yesterday.

The company swung to a GAAP net income of $86.9 million or $1.18 per share from a net income of $75 million or $1.04 in the year-ago period. Results came in 3 cents ahead of the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $1.15.

The quarterly results benefited from position limitations on speculators, sweeping regulatory reforms, lower expenses and record futures trading. The upside was also attributable to growth in the company’s core businesses, significant progress from new initiatives and stronger margins.

NYSE Euronext Inc. (NYX) reported third-quarter results on Friday. 

The company swung to a GAAP net income of $125 million or 44 cents per share from a GAAP net loss of $182 million in the prior quarter and a net income of $174 million or 66 cents in the year-ago period. Results included one-time charge related to merger expenses and exit costs, the impact of the disposition of Hugin Group B.V., the sale of investments in BM&F Bovespa and a fair value adjustment to investment in BIDS Holdings L.P.

    Dollar is at a critical stage as banks shift reserves

    The US dollar is cascading downward. This move is causing banks, especially central banks, to shift reserves out of the dollar into the euro and yen.

    A Bloomberg survey reports that policy makers boosted currency holdings by $41.3 billion dollars in the last quarter. Nations reporting currency breakdowns put 63% of this new cash into euros, and yen. The dollar's share fell to 37% from 63% in 1998.
