LookSmart Warns On Q2, Citing Soft Search Ads

It’s actually a double-whammy on the online advertising front this morning.

As noted earlier, ValueClick (VCLK) announced a Q2 miss and full-year warning due to weak display. Meanwhile, LookSmart (LOOK) likewise pre-announced a weaker-than-expected Q2. The company said it sees revenue for the quarter of $17 million to $17.1 million, which is short of the Street estimate of $18.2 million. LOOK said its second quarter revenue was “impacted by an unanticipated softening in search advertising demand.”

LOOK shares this morning are down 65 cents, or 18.8%, to $2.80.
